When I got married, I became an aunt to four wonderful, intelligent, darling nieces. Since then I've gained two incredible nephews on my husband's side of the family, so I was feeling pretty comfortable as "Aunt Alex" by the time my older brother Austin (my dawg, my broseph, my first roommate) announced the birth of his son Elijah.
But nothing could have prepared me for meeting Eli for the first time! Seeing my brother's features on a little baby boy, watching Austin and his wife Aubree become parents and happily give up all of their sleep to help feed and care for this tiny human, and snuggling up to this swaddled sleepy baby in a rocking chair.. heaven.
